RHRC Meeting Minutes - 6/18/2007

Rancho Heights Road & Management Committee Meeting Minutes

Date:  June 18, 2007

Time:  7:00 pm

Location:  the Szepkouski Home

Committer Members present: J. Geller, J. Szepkouski, C. Hill, D. Eaton, K. Ebmeier.  Also present, S. Bochinski.

Meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm.

Craig Hill reported on a conversation he had on a wide range of issues with property owner Taufer.   Issues included ownership of land, location and disposition of mailboxes, easements and solutions.  It was generally agreed to continue to discuss issues regarding mailboxes with the USPS.

A discussion of the wording of a proposed sign at the gate ensued.  It was agreed that the wording of the sign agreed to at the May meeting should be changed to read:

PRIVATE  ROAD
NO TRESPASSING
OWNERS AND GUESTS ONLY

Former Committee Chairman Bochinski presented and discussed a brief outline of the list of procedures and policies that have been adopted by the Committee over the years and that the Committee is required by the recent lawsuit settlement agreement to submit to property owners Prince, Dunnick and Gill no later than 90 days before the annual meeting in October.  Chairman Geller and Secretary Eaton volunteered to put together the list of procedures and policies in its final form and submit it for approval by the Committee and Defendants in the lawsuit.

Chairman Geller discussed meetings he and Phil Burke had with the ranch foremen of the Silver Star Ranch and the GoSky Ranch regarding recent communications from and with the Upper Pala Magee Road Committee.  It was noted that the two ranches lie between the border of Rancho Heights and the properties owned by members of the UPMRC and that the gates that the UPMRC was offering to have opened for us in the event of a fire were not owned by the property owners of UPMRC, but rather by the Silver Star and GoSky ranches.  It was also noted that the Rancho Heights Community already had agreements with the Ranch foremen, the Pala Fire Department and the County Fire District that allowed the emergency use of Magee Road through the gates should it be necessary for property owners in Rancho Heights to escape a fire by heading south toward Highway 76 on the unpaved portion of Magee Road.
